Ensay is a small picturesque rural community, situated in the Tambo Valley at the junction of the Tambo and Little Rivers.
It is ideally located 1 hour to the Gippsland Lakes and 1 hour to the snow fields, Dinner Plain and Mt Hotham.
The city of Bairnsdale is located 1 hour to the south, where you will find all the amenities of a larger centre and where the Regional Health Service is located. A bus service runs daily Monday to Friday and returns in the afternoon.
To the north west 35 minutes away is the small township of Omeo, gateway to the snowfields. Located here is a small supermarket, hardware store and the District Hospital which has an urgent care service, acute and aged care.
Between Omeo and Ensay you will find Swifts Creek where the education hub of the region is located catering for all ages from preschool to year 12. A school bus run picks up and drops off directly opposite the Ensay Bush Nursing Centre. You will also find here a small general store, bakery, café, sawmill, community centre, art gallery and police station.
At Ensay you will find a post office, ambulance station staffed by Ambulance Community Officers, a volunteer Country Fire Authority station, art gallery, garage, Ensay Winery, Little River Inn, recreational reserve and views galore.
